Gallery Notes
With the exception of In the Pond and In the Quarry, all these images were taken underwater with a 35mm film camera (Nikonos V or Contax RX in an Ewa-Marine bag). Images are available in both limited edition silver gelatin prints on fiber base paper (contact me for pricing) or archival inkjet prints (click to view the price list). In The Embrace, Hip and Shoulder, and The Hand, I was holding the lens perfectly level with the surface of the water, to explore the relationship between the real world and what I consider the underworld, and the different proportions seen by the camera in either world. Me, dreaming and Gaze are two images of my series of underwater portraits. The other underwater nudes play with the reflections of the body shapes at the water surface.
